Jill Koch: Music

I Belong to Another

(Jill Koch)
i see you standing there at my back door with your hair slicked back. you say-come out and play but i turn my back. * cause i belong to another, i belong to another. i see you standing there in my memories telling of what used to be, and what could be. you say-come back and play but i just turn away (*) **i don’t live there anymore. i live someplace safe and warm and i will tell you everyday, ask me again, i’ll tell you the same. (*) i see you standing there in my mirror again, still a very tempting reflection. you say-turn around and play but i, i turn to say. (*)so go away, go away from me.
