Pathetic Little Mind

(Jill Koch)
she said “doctor” something’s wrong with my head, “it hurts a lot” she said, and she said “doctor is there anything you can do? cause i’m just about through” and he said “now turn around now, let’s have a look see” well and what he saw he could not believe. *oh pathetic little mind, always thinkin’ ‘bout yourself again, oh-pathetic little mind, you’re all tangled up inside again. he said “honey, there’s something i must tell you, as she took off her shoes, and he said “all these years i, i couldn’t ask for more, i just don’t love you anymore.” and as she, she turned around then, to have a look at his eyes, well and what she saw she could not deny. *oh pathetic little mind, always thinkin’ ‘bout yourself again, (nobody wants to hurt, nobody wants to cry), oh-pathetic little mind, you’re all tangled up inside again, (you never come outside, no never come outside) get out and breath, get out and run, get out of here get out and save someone the air is clear, oh pathetic little mind, can you hear, can you hear, oh pathetic little mind ,someone’s calling. she said, “mommy, look at this picture i drew, it is a picture of you,” and i said, “sweetheart, you need to color in the lines, sharpen your pencil next time”, well as these, these words slide down now from my tongue and my sharp eye, well and what i heard came as no surprise. *oh-you’re always think’ ‘bout yourself again, You’re always wondering away again, who will make you stay.
